Rums
rums - 150 tote auf einen schlag
und leider auch noch die falschen
jetzt kannst du jeden tag
die hände waschen
das wird nicht wieder sauber
dabei war es noch nichtmal
die falsche entscheidung
denn in deinem job
gibt es keine richtigen
---
The big bang
Bang - 150 dead in one fell swoop
and sadly it were the wrong ones
now you can
wash your hands every day
they’ll never get clean again
though it wasn’t even
a wrong decision
because there are no right ones
in your job
---
In 2009 far more than 100 people, were killed during an airstrike against two fuel-tankers hijacked by Taliban fighters in Kunduz/Afghanistan. The order to drop bombs on the tankers was given by a german colonel, which lead to a discussion if his order was the right one, legally as well as ethically. But being in his position he already made the bad decisions some years ago - to join an institution with the sole purpose of killing.

Selbstverwirklichung
der traum vom eigenen haus in der reihe
150 quadratmeter, an alles gedacht
sogar ein keller zum lachen ist dabei
endlich kannst du machen was du willst
aber leider fällt dir nicht mehr ein
was das eigentlich war
naja, nicht so schlimm
den rasen pflegen
und die nachbarn bewachen
ist ja auch ganz nett
denen gehts ja schließlich genauso
---
Self realization
Fulfilled the dream
of your own serial house
150 square meters
what more do you want?
At last you can do whatever you wanted
but unfortunately
you forgot what this was
at least it’s not that bad
Cultivating the grass
and supervising the neighbours
is funny too
Especially when they are
as small-minded as you
---
About people who try to build up a economically independent life to realize their dreams of freedom, but become narrow-minded on the way.

Mittelmeerromantik

Mittelmeerromantik
ach, war das ein drama
als die läuferin aus somalia
im mittelmeer ertrank
aber jetzt ist wieder
business as usual an der küste
die einen fahren gemütlich
in den urlaub nach süden
und die anderen ersaufen
beim versuch
ein bischen glück
im norden zu erhaschen
---
Mediterranean Sea romantics
Oh, what a tragedy
as the somalian runner
drowned in the Mediterranean Sea
But now we are
back to business as usual
at the coast
some take a
comfy holiday in the south
and others drown at the attempt
to catch some luck in the north
---
In 2012 the olympian runner Samia Yusuf Omar died in an attempt to cross the Mediterranean Sea. This individual case and the death of hundreds of refugees at Lampedusa gained some media coverage, but usually there’s not much protest against the deadly protection of the borders of the European nations against refugees. The front and back cover of this EP is a reflection of our own position as opponents of this border system and as owners of the “proper” passports.

Reiten, jagen, fischen

Reiten, Jagen, Fischen
konkurrenzkampf und wettbewerb
und wer nicht arbeitet
soll auch nicht essen
wenn du von gesellschaft redest
erinnert mich das immer
an reiten, jagen, fischen
früher hättest du
vielleicht noch gesagt
“geh doch nach drüben”
aber jetzt reicht ja wieder
die alte Jäger und SammlerGeschichte
als Grund, warum alles
immer so bleiben muss
---
Riding, hunting, fishing
Competition and rat-race
and if you don’t work
you don’t eat
when you speak of society
it always sounds
like riding, hunting, fishing
Back then maybe
you would have sayed
“Move to the Eastern Bloc then”
but now it’s good enough
to tell the old story
of hunters and gatherers
to justify that
everything has to stay as it is
---
The evil human nature - “Humans being a wolf to their fellow humans” - making it naturally neccessary for people to fight over resources and to treat each other as predators is a widespread belief. It is also an often used justification on why capitalism is considered to be the best way to organize human societies, when in fact capitalism encourages people to treat each other like that. So these beliefs of the bad, sinful human nature are a perfect way to retain the status quo and to keep people from thinking about better ways to organize societies.

Better than you

Better than you
Ein paar Jahrzehnte Verdrängung
und jetzt gibts Erinnerungsorte
Museen und Guido Knopp
Das reicht dann aber auch
für die Rückkehr zur Normalität
Nationalstolz, Exportweltmeister
und Weltmacht
und mit gutem Gewissen
lässt sichs auch besser Krieg führen
Aus Auschwitz lernen
heißt moralisch Siegen lernen
---
Better than you
Some decades of repression
but now there are memorial sites
museums and TV-documentaries
So this should be enough
to go back to normal
National pride,
world champion of exports
and global power
with a pure conscience
it’s much easier to fight wars
Learning from Auschwitz
means learning to triumph morally
---
For some years now german politicians openly speak about their ambitions to make Germany a global (war leading) power again. Often this is justified with the “successful” struggle to come to terms with the past: Openly admitting the german guilt for the Holocaust shows their moral superiority which automatically qualifies them to “solve” problems all over the world.

Das Beste

Das Beste
arme eltern
---
The Best
Poor Parents
or born in the wrong country
Nobody gives a shit - we are all equal here
Let’s go! Get to work
here everyone is his own product
And if you don’t succeed
and if your life is not so good
we’ll point fingers
and laugh at you
Some simply have to struggle more
to be as equal as the others
---
To most people who lack the economical safety of rich parents or a birth in a first-world-country it is pure cynism to hear about equal opportunities for everyone.

Was guckst du
00:47
|
|||
Was guckst du?!
---
You lookin’ at me?
I’m sick and tired of your whining
Oh - You’re not allowed
to say the N-word in your own house
a minority in your own country
you’re oh-so opressed by all the foreigners
forcing their hilarious habits upon you
If someone would really
call you “Fucking Kraut” at last
this would be much too friendly
---
About people, who belong to the privileged cultural majority of a country and feel so threatenend by a few people who don’t look or act like them, that they hate everything who is somehow different.

Wohlfühleinkauf
00:54
|
|||
Wohlfühleinkauf
Die Ölplattform in grün gestrichen
und auch das Atomkraftwerk
sieht gleich viel besser aus
einen Bierkasten für einen Regenwaldbaum
und jede gekaufte Schokolade
rettet ein hungerndes Kind
Früher war’s viel schwerer als Weltverbesserer
jetzt reicht zum Glück
die richtige Kaufentscheidung
und dein schlechtes Gewissen als Kaufargument
hält die Wirtschaft weiter am laufen
---
Shopping with clear conscience
The oil platform is painted green
and the nuclear plant
looks much better alike
buying a crate of beer
keeps a tree in the rain-forest from being cut
and buying a chocolate bar
saves the life of a starving child
Back then it was much more complicated
to be a revolutionary
but now you only need
to make the right buying decision
and so your guilty conscience
keeps the economy afloat
---
Combining capitalist economics with human or ecological conscience is just another way to sell products. There’s no way to eliminate the problems connected with the capitalist mass-production as long as profit is more important than human needs.

---
Taking part
“and if you do something against it
they’ll put you in the next jail”
although it would be even better
if you’d simply take part
if you’d simply don’t think about it
if you’d simply don’t question it
if you’d be just a part of our team
where everyone
just works a little bit more
and doesn’t care about
those who aren’t allowed to participate
---
The old revolutionary band “Ton Steine Scherben” sang about what happens, when you start to resist. But in todays first-world-societies there seems to be no need to force people to participate in capitalism. They can’t imagine any other way and fear to lose their social status and so they continue to work their asses off.

Spielverderber
“Was hast du gegen meine Fahne?
Ich könnte dir was erzählen
Weltkrieg
---
Killjoy
“Don`t say anything against my flag!
It’s just so colorful and innocent
and excludes nobody!”
I could tell you something
about nationalism and borders
and all that shit
but you don’t want to hear it anyway
You just don’t want me to ruin your party
And we all know since World War I
that the real fun
just starts with your own flag

About people waving nation-flags for soccer-games, claiming that this has nothing to do with nationalism.

Kellerasseln Erfurt, Germany
We exist since the end of 1995 in the same constellation:
Uwe - bass, Keller - guitar + voice, Steppl -
drums.
We do basically what all bands are doing - playing gigs, releasing some records,
playing the kind of music we like and trying to write lyrics which have something new to tell.
