This song is about the seemingly neverending attempts of a lot of german to forget about the past of this country. Sometimes it seems that nobody ever knew about anything that happened here – 6 millions of jews, sinti, roma and others were killed between 1939 and 1945 and there are still attempts to deny what happened. The newer version of these attempts is to try to equalize the holocaust with the air raids of the allies in dresden or the displacement of germans from the today’s poland and czech republic after world war II.

The government and most of the media labeled the military missions of the german army as “humanitarian and peacekeeping”. politics in germany have changed a lot since then, so now they can openly speak about being involved in a war, but it is still avoided to mention that this includes killing people.

When you look at how this society accepts most of the subcultural styles and music-forms it may seem, that it is a very open society.
